This summer has been very intensive in looking for cooperation opportunities between local farmers and Horeca sector in Lithuania. Our goal was to help farmers to develop B2B sales, to meet the chefs, to know more about their requirements and receive the feedback.Stagnation in spring stopped Horeca sector, while farmers increased their sales to the individual consumers. Despite this difficult time, both sides have expressed a willingness to cooperate.In September 6 the food network “Merkioproduktai“ had a chance to introduce their assortment during the annual event of the Association of Lithuanian Chefs and Confectioners. This time seasonal products were in focus. The Lithuanian Vegetable Producers Association was invited for presentation of autumn tastes. B2B cooperation possibilities are still new for farmers and chefs.Both sides agreed that the involvement ofintermediate organization, which takes care of logistics, gives better opportunities for smooth cooperation and saves time.Hopefully the results of this project enable to establish more similar partnerships also in other regions of Lithuania.
